The State of Maine’s campuses in Augusta and nearby communities were nearly 20 years old. Our design for a master plan brings the state up to date while meeting its needs through 2040, with a focus on sustainability and resiliency in the face of climate change.
Through a series of engagements with State administration, departmental representatives, and the community, we partnered with a broader consultant team to complete comprehensive assessments of all state-owned and leased properties. The outcome is a preferred master plan concept to develop planning, design, and policy recommendations inclusive of transportation, workplace strategies, urban design, historic preservation, and landscape. A key component is an energy plan addressing land use, energy, and sustainability to meet Maine’s goals of reducing energy consumption, increasing the use of cleaner, low-carbon energy generated in the state, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
DLR Group provided planning, workplace strategy, energy planning, and sustainability consulting services.
