DLR Group becomes EBD Advocate Firm with Center for Health Design
(CHICAGO, August 3, 2022) – We recently announced our commitment as an Advocate Firm for the Center for Health Design’s Evidence-Based Design Accreditation and Certification program, known as EDAC. This supports the firm’s work in design research and EBD throughout all market sectors, and encourages their designers to become EDAC certified.
The EDAC program awards credentials to individuals who demonstrate an understanding of how to apply an evidence-based process to the design and construction of all settings that contribute to health, safety and wellbeing including measuring and reporting results.

The partnership with EDAC stretches beyond healthcare design alone. EBD includes all design disciplines from start to finish, and enlists all of those skills in making EBD a priority. “DLR Group professionals in multiple market sectors, including Healthcare, Higher Ed, K12, Justice+Civic, and Workplace, rely on EBD to create environments that respond to the needs of the users,” said Senior Principal Philip LiBassi, Global Healthcare Leader. “The need to design for health and wellness in all these environments is vital to creating spaces that work for everyone and promote an equitable sense of wellbeing wherever we may be working.”
Currently eight of our staff members are EDAC certified, with several others preparing for certification.
