Tour the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in New York City
Join our team for a tour of the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in New York City, presented by Open House New York, commonly referred to as OHNY, in partnership with the Illuminating Engineering Society New York City Section, commonly referred to as IESNYC.
Conceived by Santiago Calatrava with the symbolic use of light, the church’s lighting, designed and implemented by our team, reinforces the spirit of rebirth and continuity for the Church and the city. Our lighting design carefully balances the use of both daylight and electric light internally and externally. It transforms what appears as a solid stone church by day into a luminous beacon of light and hope at night, thus achieving the Archbishop’s goal that the church appears “to be lit from 10,000 candles.”
The tour will be held on Tuesday, December 10 beginning at 5:00 PM. Tickets are $6 and will go on sale on November 26 at 12:00 PM.
This tour is a part of OHNY at Night, a series of evening tours spotlighting the work of lighting designers in partnership with IESNYC.
