DLR Group to Present at SCUP Pacific 2023 Regional Conference
Join our team at this year’s Society for College and University Planning Pacific 2023 Regional Conference in Davis, CA.
Principal and Higher Education Leader, Jaclynn Eckhardt, AIA, will be presenting a session titled, “Weaving Together Institutional Goals with Native Traditional Culture and Knowledge.” This session will showcase strategies for actionable stewardship through Indigenous perspectives on the University of Alaska Southeast’s coastal campuses, reflecting the transition from planning to implementing the 2022 Campus Master Plan.
Learning objectives include:
- Identify key campus stakeholders and their role in championing inclusion and diversity within campus planning.
- Recognize and explore potential barriers to effective physical development and capital implementation on your campus.
- Discuss on-campus strategies for honoring the relationships between indigenous people and their sovereign lands, languages, ancestors, and future generations.
- Outline an approach for engaging diverse campus communities supporting indigenous initiatives.
She will be accompanied by co-presenters, including Planning Manager Puanani Maunu and Associate Vice Chancellor for Alaska Native Programs and P.I.T.A.A.S. Director Ronalda Cadiente Brown, both of University of Alaska Southeast.
Jaclynn’s session will be on the second day of the conference, Tuesday, March 28, from 1:30 – 2:30 PM.
