The new addition to Hood River Middle School celebrates the unmistakable historic characteristics of the original 1927 structure: rich brickwork, terra cotta accents, window tracery, pointed arches, and steeply pitched roofs.
DLR Group's design physically links new and old through pedestrian walkway connections and addresses modern educational needs while respecting the design fabric of the stately original. The entire middle school immerses students in a rich cultural heritage, and unites the community with an expression of high expectations and commitment to educational excellence.
